The speaking task
Sie möchten mit Ihrem Partner einen kurzen Urlaub planen. Sprechen Sie über Ziel, Verkehrsmittel, Unterkunft, Kosten und Aktivitäten.
- Holiday planning is common because it naturally creates choices: city or nature, train or car, hotel or apartment.
- Give reasons for your preference instead of listing places.
- End with a clear plan: destination, date, transport, and one activity.
Sample B1 dialogue
Read the dialogue once, then close it and speak the same plan with one changed detail. That small change is what turns a model answer into speaking practice.
- A: Wohin könnten wir in den Ferien fahren?
- B: Ich würde gern ans Meer fahren, weil ich mich erholen möchte.
- A: Das klingt gut. Fahren wir mit dem Zug oder mit dem Auto?
- B: Mit dem Zug ist es entspannter. Ich suche eine günstige Unterkunft.
- A: Einverstanden. Dann plane ich die Aktivitäten vor Ort.
What examiners want to hear
A strong B1 partner task shows cooperation. You do not need advanced grammar. You need a clear suggestion, a response to your partner, one reason, and a final decision.
- Start naturally: Wir müssen zuerst ... / Ich schlage vor, dass ...
- React to your partner: Das ist eine gute Idee. / Das passt mir leider nicht.
- Give a reason: weil es billiger ist / weil wir mehr Zeit haben.
- Finish clearly: Also, du machst ..., und ich mache ...
